Legacy Energy Consulting, a prominent merger and acquisitions consulting firm, is pleased to announce the successful sale of Griffin's Propane, located in Silver City, NM, to an undisclosed buyer.


Griffin’s Propane was established in 1991 by Richard and Charlotte Griffin to provide reliable propane services to the community of Silver City in Southwest New Mexico. Recognizing the superior quality of their service, they grew their business to include four locations in New Mexico and four in Arizona over the subsequent thirty plus years, with the assistance of their daughter Lindsay, who joined the business in 2014, and son-in-law Alex who joined in 2019.


The Griffin family commented, “When we decided to sell our family business, it was a difficult decision to sell the company that we had spent the last 34 years building. These services encompassed the initial valuation, discreetly marketing the business to potential buyers through an efficient and structured sale process, negotiating the final deal structure, and managing the due diligence process between the seller and the eventual buyer. Chad Pendill and Tyler Pendill managed the transaction. This transaction is the fifth for Legacy Energy Consulting in 2024, and its twenty first since 2020.

Legacy Propane of Allison, IA was originally established as Allison Propane in 1972 and was acquired by Heritage Petroleum of Evansville, IN as part of its much larger acquisition of Diamond Oil in February of 2025. John Clark, the COO of Heritage Petroleum commented “We have bought 25 companies in 12 years but had never sold anything.
